About Us
The Pompano Beach Tiger Trail Festival is more than a celebration. It’s a living tribute to the people, stories, and traditions that shaped our community.
Founded in 1995 by members of the Blanche Ely High School Class of 1970, the festival was born from a vision to honor African American pioneers, celebrate cultural pride, and bring people together through unity and shared experiences.
Today, that legacy continues through music, arts, education, family activities, and community events that connect generations and celebrate the richness of African American culture.
Our History
A Legacy Born From Courage
The founders of Tiger Trail grew up during segregation, witnessing firsthand the barriers that divided their community. Rather than allowing that history to be forgotten, they created a celebration rooted in resilience, progress, and togetherness.
What began as a community-driven initiative has grown into an enduring tradition that honors the past while inspiring future generations.
Our Mission
Preserving Our Heritage. Strengthening Our Community.
Our mission is to celebrate African American history and culture, promote unity through diversity, and create meaningful opportunities for education, cultural appreciation, and community engagement.
Through every event, we strive to honor those who paved the way, uplift today’s community, and inspire tomorrow’s leaders.
More Than a Festival
Each February, Tiger Trail brings the community together through cultural celebrations, live entertainment, youth leadership initiatives, family experiences, and health and wellness activities.
From the excitement of the street festival to the elegance of our signature gala, every experience is an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and carry our legacy forward.
